Dr. Laurene Glimois
Language Co-Ordinator (Teaching Fellow), French

Biography

I earned a MA in French Linguistics and Didactics from Rennes II University, France (2006) and a Ph.D. in French - with a focus on Second Language Acquisition and secondary interests in French and Francophone literature and film - from the Ohio State University (2019). My research has, thus far, mainly explored ways in which second language instruction can facilitate the processing of new grammatical forms for a diverse body of learners. I have worked as a language instructor for over ten years in the United States, China, and Europe, implementing various approaches to second language teaching. I have also built an extensive teaching portfolio, facilitated teacher-training workshops, and developed new language courses and programs. Before joining the Department of French at Trinity, I worked for two years as an Assistant Professor of French and Linguistics at Auburn University (USA), and as an associate linguist in the Tech sector for a little while.
