Kathleen Conroy

Kathleen has a BSc in environmental science from University of Massachusetts Boston and a MSc in biodiversity and conservation from Trinity College Dublin. Kathleen has a wide range of interests having done research in disease ecology, tropical ecology, and Irish hazel woodlands. After finishing her MSc, she began a dry forest and habitat restoration project in Hawaii. She then worked on a forest management project in the Sierra Nevada.

Kathleen is the PhD student on the ForES project, joining the team in March 2022. Her research questions often align directly with the project as she focuses on ecosystem accounts in Irish forestry. She will analyse the accounts created and will develop the models needed for a decision support tool. Her research also looks at using structured decision making as a way of engaging and better understanding stakeholders.
