April 14th- The First International Conference of Ultimology

Fiona Hallinan & Kate Strain

10am - 3pm, Thursday 14 April
Long Room Hub, Trinity College, Dublin

Ultimology is the study of that which is dead or dying in a series or process. When applied to academic disciplines, it becomes the study of extinct or endangered subjects, theories, and tools of learning. The first Department of Ultimology was established by Fiona Hallinan and Kate Strain in January 2016. The department operates out of CONNECT, Dunlop Oriel House, Trinity College Dublin. Through embedded research - both qualitative, and as a service (UaaS) - the department identifies and explores cycles of knowledge formation across the university.

This conference performs the findings of the Department of Ultimology’s first term of existence. Through screenings, talks, tests and alternative research, the inaugural conference brings together researchers and practitioners from inside and outside Trinity to explore the concept of Ultimology and how it relates to their field of knowledge.

SOLD OUT: You can book for the conference here: https://www.eventbrite.ie/e/the-first-international-conference-of-ultimology-tickets-22700779643 (limited availability, early booking advised)
