Biography: I work as a tenured lecturer at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, and as academic secretary of ADHUC–Research Center for Theory, Gender, Sexuality, in the University of Barcelona (Spain). I’m the coordinator of the PhD program in Nursing and Health and a member of the Steering Committee at the Doctoral School (University of Barcelona). Research expertise: I have published numerous articles in scientific journals and several book chapters on ethical and social issues related to women’s health. I’m currently the lead investigator in the Project “Vulnerability in Women’s Philosophical Thought: Contributions to the Debate around Present Emergencies” funded by Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, and I participated in the COST action 1405 “Building Intrapartum Research Through Health- an interdisciplinary whole system approach to understanding and contextualising physiological labour and birth (BIRTH)” and now in CA18211 – Perinatal Mental Health and Birth-Related Trauma: Maximising best practice and optimal outcomes. I have supervised 8 PhD thesis. Rewards/recognition/memberships: In 2010 I was awarded the Research in Bioethics Prize by the Víctor Grífols i Lucas Foundation. I co-directed Revista Matronas Profesión between 2009 and 2015, and I’m currently the director of MUSAS: research journal in Woman, Health and Society.
