Part 2: Classical thinkers on religion
Thinking about religion makes an important
element of the intellectual history of modernity.
This course will dive deeper into the theories
and concepts ‘classical thinkers’ developed
about religion. Distinguishing between academic
and religious, atheist, philosophical and
common sense positions, we will keep track of
how the theories responded to the problems of
their time, and how they have shaped our
understanding of religion until today.
