Margaret Duff Garvey

Margaret is a PhD Candidate in the School of Histories and Humanities, Trinity College, Dublin, researching a strategic approach to the history of forestry resource management perspectives at the time of the foundation of the Irish State, particularly social and environmental aspects. Margaret completed an MPhil in Modern Irish History in Trinity College, Dublin in 2012, thesis on Anne Deane, DEA in Fisheries Management, 1975 Universite de Bretagne Occidentale, BA (Mod) Natural Sciences in Zoology, 1974 having worked in Dail Eireann and the European Parliament as research assistant, after working in the North Pacific Management Council, United States of America.

Research Interests: Natural resource management systems, history of forestry and maritime resource use, Irish history, land use, Irish maritime history.
