Athena SWAN

The Athena SWAN Charter is a recognition and award scheme for positive gender practice in Higher Education, administered by the UK’s Equality Challenge Unit (ECU), which was launched in Ireland in February 2015. In July 2015, Trinity was successful in achieving an institutional Athena SWAN Bronze award as well as three Bronze school awards -

Following on the success of Trinity achieving an institutional Athena Swan Bronze the Faculty of Health Sciences is in the process of applying for a Faculty Bronze award in November 2018. The Faculty of Health Sciences are committed to the reccogition and advancement of gernder equality and to representation, progression and success for all. The Faculty of Health Sciences have recruited Ms Louise Walsh as Project Manager and Prof Damien Brennan School of Nursing & Midwifery has been appointed as the Athena Swan champion to support this initiative.

The Faculty of Health Sciences Self Assessment Team (SAT) has been formed and met for the first time on the 24th April 2018.
