Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organisation on the planet to achieve more and the company lives out this mission every day through its engagement with businesses, government, partners, non-profit organisations, the start-up ecosystem, and society as a whole. Since establishing a presence in Ireland in 1985, Microsoft Ireland has grown and evolved significantly. The company now employs over 3,500 people representing 95 different nationalities across a variety of roles including Data centre design and operations, Software development, Field and Digital sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance and HR.

Joanne Morrissey, Senior HR Director Microsoft Ireland said: "We are delighted to collaborate with the Trinity Centre for Individuals with an Intellectual Disability. At Microsoft, diversity and inclusion is central to our mission to empower every person and organisation to achieve more, but our mission will only be fulfilled when everyone is included. Together with Microsoft's Dream Space education team, we look forward to collaborating with TCPID on this important programme, welcoming the participating students for their work placements at Microsoft Ireland, and supporting them to develop the digital and soft skills that are necessary for the workplace. We hope that our collaboration with TCPID will positively contribute to and influence the future employability of people with intellectual disabilities."

Marie Devitt, TCPID Pathways Coordinator, added: "We are very proud to welcome Microsoft as a new TCPID Business Patron. We are really looking forward to working with the team in Microsoft to create new and exciting opportunities for our students and graduates over the coming years. We are already in the process of planning for our first student placement in Microsoft Dublin which will be taking place in February and March 2024. The ultimate goal of the TCPID is to help to build true inclusion in education, in the workplace and in the community. Working with Microsoft and all our other amazing partners is helping us to achieve this goal.
