In accepting the award, Dr Keely said: “It is great the Trinity team has been recognised for a second time. Academia and industry is about building trust, working efficiently and delivering impact.”
Dr Keely described how Trinity’s culture for academic freedom, diversity of scholarship and maintaining the highest levels of academic standards is key to ensure these partnerships work. Dr Keely’s team at Trinity have a strong industrial network, which makes forming relationships with companies that bit easier.
“All the team in my office come from an industry background,” he says. “We have a lot of relationships built on previous engagements. We’d also work with, for example, Enterprise Ireland and IDA in identifying and meeting companies as well.”
