Plant Developmental Genetics

Welcome to Our Laboratory

Welcome to the website of our Plant Developmental Genetics laboratory. Our laboratory is part of the Smurfit Institute, which is home to the Department of Genetics at Trinity College Dublin.

In our laboratory, we are addressing fundamental questions in developmental biology: how are complex organs formed from small sets of undifferentiated precursor cells and what are the genes and molecular mechanisms that contribute to the regulation of development? For this work we are using plants as a model system. We are also trying to translate some of our findings from basic research to agriculture to produce new, improved crop varieties.
For our research, we are using a combination of molecular genetics, genomics, and biochemistry. For further information about our work, please visit our research site.
