RESEARCH INTEREST:

Ancient genomics of cattle, domestic animal mobility and Bronze Age migrations. I am interested in the effect of domestication from a genetic point of view, hence assessing the impact of humans on their environment. How wild animals evolved into present day cattle? What traits were selected? How many events did it require and when did they happen? Understanding this process also informs about economy of ancient societies: some populations benefited from the species they domesticated, and the specific goods they could get from them. The methodology of the project involves ancient DNA techniques performed in dedicated laboratory, and bioinformatics analysis.
