Croatian – Advanced
Intermediate Croatian
This course is aimed at students who have
completed previous Croatian courses, otherwise
placement in this course is based on entrance
assessment (written and oral).
During this course students will review their
knowledge of Croatian morphology and syntax by
focusing on four language skills, namely
speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Students
will familiarise themselves with Croatian culture
and increase their ability to use effective
strategies for language learning and
communication. In addition, students will expand
their knowledge of Croatian pragmatics, syntax,
morphology, and lexicology, which should enable
them to communicate fluently in Croatian.
The class is held once a week for two hours.
The total number of contact hours is forty-two
(
twenty-one weeks). At the end of the course
students have an option of a final written and
oral assessment.
