Trinity Student Medical Journal

TSMJ is a peer reviewed medical journal aimed at undergraduate health and natural sciences students at Trinity College Dublin. At TSMJ we try to publish articles which reflect areas of medicine that students find interesting and pertinent to their development as doctors. It was set up in 1999 by medical students with the help of faculty members Professor Moira O’Brien and Professor Conleth Feighery. Since then it has been reaching new heights and is now in its 9th year.

TSMJ was designed as a portal for students to communicate to other students, faculty members, affiliated institutions on issues such as:

Aims of the Journal

The aim of the journal is to encourage students to undertake and publish their research, as well as voicing their opinions and ideas. Over the years this journal has become renowned as being an excellent port of call for students, providing information on a wide range of topics, whether it’s about elective experiences, student’s views or different medical topics aimed at students. A published article in the journal allows the students to receive publication credit prior to graduation, along with a financial incentive for the best article.

Categories for submission are:

The TSMJ is free to all students and is available online. Journals are distributed during the conference and subsequently to all the medical years. Any student or professional from the Faculty of Health Sciences are eligible to submit an article. Students from other disciplines outside of medicine are encouraged to enter their submissions.
