Partnerships

Trinity College Dublin recognises the importance of partnerships between industry and academia in maintaining the vitality of both.

Trinity wish to continue to develop partnerships with internationally focused commercial entities who want to support the academic reputation of the University and that see a mutually beneficial advantage of the association and the commercial opportunity it offers.

Since its establishment, CRU has successfully negotiated a number of key partnerships, with organisations such as Bank of Ireland, Aramark and Coca-Cola. Take a look below at what these companies have achieved with us so far.

Should you wish to discuss Trinity commercial partnership opportunities, please contact Rachel Kelly at kellyr43@tcd.ie or (01) 896 2056.

Trinity Partnerships

UPS

The partnership between UPS and Trinity College Dublin demonstrates shared values of a commitment to creating a more sustainable Dublin city. Through a mix of innovation and socially responsible projects, this partnership aims to provide value and benefits to students, the campus, local community and local businesses. This will be achieved through a variety of ways, including:

  • The development of two sustainable, ‘last mile’ city solutions which aim to reduce the number of vehicles on-campus and in Dublin city and reduce CO2 emissions by up to 45%.
    • A UPS ‘urban eco package hub’ will act as a mini distribution centre for parcel deliveries, which will be delivered on foot and via UPS electrically-assisted cargo cycles.
    • Newly installed lockers, operated by Parcel Motel, a UPS company. The lockers, located by the Science Gallery, will allow busy students and staff to collect their online shopping parcels at their own convenience.
  • The opportunity for students to participate in UPS internships, at any one of its European locations, and graduate programmes.

The partnership is part of UPS’ overall commitment to reducing its footprint. These include the following global goals:

  • A reduction in absolute greenhouse gas emissions across UPS global ground operations of 12% by 2025 (2015 baseline).
  • 25% of all new vehicle purchases to be alternative fuel or advanced technology by 2020
  • 40% of all ground fuel used to be alternative fuel by 2025.
