Volunteer Locally

If you want to volunteer in your local community in Dublin or elsewhere in Ireland, one of the best places to start is the Volunteer Centres Ireland website. This website let you fill in information on where you would like to volunteer, the level of availability you have and what type of work interests you (working with children, computers, gardening...). It will search the database and provide you with information on opportunities which suit you and if you would like, staff in the centre will follow up with the community organisation or charity you choose.

Volunteer Centres work to provide a placement service between individuals and groups who want to undertake voluntary activity and organisations that are seeking to involve volunteers. Their primary function is to match individuals and groups interested in volunteering with appropriate volunteering opportunities. To do this, they offer advice and support to both volunteers and volunteer-involving organisations through a range of services that include information provision, consultation, training and Garda Vetting. If you want to get in touch with the local Volunteer Centre directly, check out the North Dublin City Volunteer Centre website or the South Dublin City Volunteer Centre website. For Volunteer Centres outside the city centre, see the Volunteer Centres Ireland website.
