Submit an Opportunity
If your organisation respects and upholds the rights and responsibilities of volunteers and has supportive volunteering policy, please consider filling out the organisation information sheet (DOC, 24KB) and sending it to the TCD Civic Engagement Officer. If appropriate, your opportunity may be included in the following:
- The Current Opportunities section of this website
- The Monthly Volunteer Opportunities Bulletin which is e-mailed out to members of the college Community with an interest in volunteering
- The Annual Volunteering Opportunities Fair
The Volunteer Opportunities Fair is held on campus in October each year and is a collaboration between the Civic Engagement Office and the Trinity Volunteer Opportunities Forum (TVOF). At the 2009, an average of 36 students expressed interest in working with each organisation and all community organisations commented on the positive attitude and enthusiasm of students to get involved and expressed an interest in developing their relationship with Trinity College Dublin further. The feedback from community organisations indicated that the event was hugely valuable from their perspective while the numbers of sign-ups to these organisations would indicate that students too took a lot from the event.
Please note that TCD Civic Engagement does not usually promote fundraising opportunities alone as there are already a variety of worthy campus based causes and fundraising activities which students collect money for. Instead we look for well supported, fully insured opportunities which help students develop their confidence, transferable skills (communication, teambuilding etc.) and/or which enhance their understanding of their area of study.
If your organisation is involved in placing volunteers abroad, you will need to sign up to the Comhlámh Code of Good Practice for Sending Organisations (external site) before we can promote your opportunities.
