Join our TCD Gardening Outreach on May 29th
April 29 2010
To mark the beginning of Dublin City Volunteer Week, students, staff and alumni are once again asked to don their gardening gloves and help brighten up the grounds of Echlin House, an under 18s residential service run by Crosscare Young People's Services. This residence offers young people in need of support the respect and home comforts they deserve. The outcomes for young people are positive, giving them a greater sense of worth and value. We're going to spend some time planting, watering and weeding. Crosscare is a Social Care Agency whose mission is to contribute to the building of an inclusive society. If you'd be up for a day in the outdoors, a bit of fun, meeting new people and giving back to the community, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up.
The aim of Dublin City Volunteer Week is to celebrate and recognize the efforts of the countless volunteers in Dublin City, and show the many diverse and exciting ways people can get involved in volunteering. A number of restaurants, shops, museums, galleries, coffee shops and cinema's around the city will show their support and appreciation for volunteers by offering promotions, offers, discounts and other concessions during the week. All TCD outreach volunteers will be kept up to date as to how to avail of Volunteer Week offers.
