The Long Room is located in Trinity’s Old Library building, home to the Book of Kells and over 200,000 of Trinity’s most ancient books. A working library since 1732, the Long Room is steeped in heritage and one of the most unique spaces in Ireland to host an exclusive event. Every corner of the 65-metre long vaulted chamber is filled with books and history, with dark oak beams produced by generations of master craftsmen. Visitors on entering the Long Room are struck by the scent of the ancient leather-bound books, and other priceless artefacts.
Our team of expert event managers are available to support and advise you throughout your planning process for your Long Room event. Choose from a range of options for in-house refreshments, including canapés and wine receptions tailored to suit your needs. Live acoustic music is permitted, with arrangements such as choir singing, guitar and harp playing lending particularly well to the atmosphere of the space.
A private tour of the Book of Kells exhibition can be arranged for groups in advance of the event.
