Online booking for the Book of Kells is strongly recommended since it is timed entry and the slots tend to book out in advance.

There are toilet facilities available in Front Square (where your tour commences) and in Fellow Square (where your tour finishes)

Photographs are permitted across Trinity campus. However, tripods are not permitted.

Photographs are permitted in the Book of Kells Exhibition and in the Long Room. However, flash photography is not permitted in the Old Library.

Photos of the Book of Kells itself are not permitted.

  • Ask for Trinity College, College Green entrance. Cost €30.
Bus
  • The Aircoach leaves Dublin airport every 15min, 24 hours a day. Cost: €9
  • Ask to be dropped off at Kildare Street. Walk towards Nassau Street and take the Nassau street entrance of Trinity College opposite KC Peaches/Costa Coffee.

By taxi:
  • Ask for Trinity College, College Green entrance. Cost: €15.
By tram:
  • Head to the Connolly LUAS stop or the Bus Aras LUAS stop
  • Buy a ticket to Trinity. Cost €3
  • You will need to switch from the RED LUAS line to the GREEN LUAS line at the Abbey Street LUAS stop.

By taxi:
  • Ask for Trinity College, College Green entrance. Cost: €15.
By tram:
  • Head to Hueston LUAS stop.
  • Buy a ticket to Trinity. Cost €3
  • You will need to switch from the RED LUAS line to the GREEN LUAS line at the Abbey Street LUAS stop.
