With increased footfall of visitors to its campus, the College faces increased challenges and to address some of these, it adopted a new Campus Tours Policy in the summer of 2017. The aim of this is to ensure accurate and engaging tours for visitors to the College, as well as a quality experience during their visit.
This policy outlines that authorised tours of campus are conducted by Trinity’s official tour provider, Authenticity Tours.
– In implementing this new policy, the College hopes to continue to protect and preserve its historic campus and ensure a memorable experience for all of its visitors.
– Authenticity Tours, which operates Trinity Tours, can facilitate any tour requests from members of the public or tour groups. Authenticity Tours offers a combined ticket which incorporates discounts on the cost of a guided tour of Trinity College Dublin and the admission fee to the Book of Kells and Old Library Exhibition.
Lasting 35 minutes, the tour encompasses the four major squares of the College. It provides visitors with an insight into the more than four-hundred-year history of the College, its buildings and their use, its traditions and its life today.
All of the guides are knowledgeable and enthusiastic students of Trinity College Dublin. To take a guided tour, visitors need simply turn up at the Authenticity Tours ticket desk at the Front Gate and purchase a ticket for the next scheduled tour. Authenticity Tours does not currently offer advance purchase for a scheduled tour.
To purchase a ticket for the guided tour please visit the Authenticity Tours desk, situated at the Front Gate, inside the College campus (a map can be found here).
The schedule, notifications and pricing displayed at the Front Gate always take precedence over information available through any other medium (including this page). Cash is the preferred method of payment. It is not currently possible to purchase a ticket online.
The Authenticity Tours public tour schedule is advertised on the College website on a monthly/seasonal basis. However, the tour schedule displayed at the Front Gate always takes precedence over the information available through any other medium (including this page).

This is subject to both prior arrangement and guide availability. We reserve the right to determine whether a query regarding a group tour can be facilitated by means of the Authenticity Tours’ public tour schedule.
University/school/corporate group tours may focus solely upon the College and its grounds or may be so organised as to include admission to the Book of Kells and Old Library Exhibition. Please note, the latter option is only possible during the Exhibition’s Opening Hours.
To enquire about a university/school group booking, the group leader/s should complete the Group Booking Request Form (click here).
The group leader will receive an e-mail confirming if we can facilitate the group tour and provide the price for the tour.
We are conscious that often those who set the task of organising a corporate group tour of the College are acting on behalf of others. The provision of as much detail as possible is appreciated as this greatly saves on time on both sides. Those who wish to enquire about corporate group bookings should complete the Group Booking Request Form (click here).
We will reply as quickly as possible confirming if we can facilitate the group tour and provide the price for the tour.
