The Book of Kells Creative Competition

This year, contestants are invited to share art and writing that evokes the theme of 'colours in the Book of Kells’.

There are competition categories for adults as well as primary and secondary level students, with winners receiving an individual cash prize and a cash prize for their arts club or school if applicable.

Winners will also be honoured at the annual Book of Kells Creative Competition awards ceremony, hosted at Trinity College and will receive a VIP tour of the Book of Kells exhibition.

How it works

Art

Create a drawing or painting inspired by colours in the Book of Kells.

Writing

Write a poem or short story inspired by colours in the Book of Kells.

Prizes

There is a fantastic range of prizes to be won in each category, across individuals, schools, clubs and societies, including cash prizes and VIP trips. Each winner will also receive a certificate of merit and an invitation to the exclusive creative competition awards ceremony held at Trinity College Dublin.
