Mon Histoire: Exploring Cultural Roots

Thursday, 9 February 2023, 3 – 4pm

Mon Histoire: Exploring Cultural Roots

A seminar by Prof George Belliveau (University of British Columbia) organised by the Arts Education Research Group in the School of Education.

This session shares an emerging theatre-based project based on transatlantic narratives. It explores a culture’s resilience and its desire to hold on to its identity and language. After providing some context to the project, a 10-minute performative monologue is shared. This is followed by a conversation with attendees.

George Belliveau is Professor of Education at the University of British Columbia, Canada, with a research focus on drama/theatre education. His latest co-edited book Contact!Unload: Military Veterans, Trauma, and Research-based Theatre (2020) explores a project with military veterans, artists and counsellors. He is a trained actor, and former secondary school teacher.

No registration is required. Please indicate if you have any access requirements, such as ISL/English interpreting, so that we can facilitate you in attending this event. Contact: CAROSULL@tcd.ie,
