TLRH | The School of English Staff-Postgraduate Seminar Series
Tuesday, 20 April 2021, 4 – 5pm
Research seminars by Dearbhaile Houston (TCD) and Hannah Mathew (TCD) as part of the School of English Staff-Postgraduate Seminar Series 2020-21 in partnership with Trinity Long Room Hub.
Dearbhaile Houston will present a paper entitled "‘You have to rise above your circumstances’: The Neoliberal University in Nicole Flattery’s “Abortion, A Love Story”." Hannah Mathew's research centers on "Biopolitics, Immunity, and the Intellectual in Cold-War Western Dystopias."
The Staff-Postgraduate Seminar Series is a fortnightly meeting which has been integral to the School of English research community since the 1990s. The aim of the seminar series is to provide a relaxed and convivial atmosphere for staff and students to present their research to their peers. The series also welcomes distinguished guest lecturers from the academic community outside Trinity College to present on their work. It is a fantastic opportunity to share ideas and engage with the diverse research taking place within the School. The series conveners for the academic year 2020-21 are current PhD students Orlaith Darling, Janice Deitner and Maggie Masterson.
