Jesus, Good Jew or Bad Jew?
Friday, 27 April 2018, 7:30 – 9:30pm
Of course we know Jesus was Jewish, but to what extent has the subsequent parting of the ways between Christianity and Rabbinic Judaism clouded our understanding of Jesus’ Jewishness and even obscured it. Do the attitudes and actions of Jesus as he is depicted in the gospels suggest someone truly at odds with Jewish traditions of his day? And if so, did that make him a good Jew or a bad one?
Join us as Prof Adele Reinhartz, (Uni of Ottawa) a reknowned expert on both the New Testament and Jewish Christian relations explores these and other questions.
Organised by the Trinity Centre for Biblical Studies.
