‘A Window on my World’: Poetry, Resistance and Justice
Poets in Ireland read for UNESCO World Poetry Day, 2021

To mark UNESCO World Poetry Day 2021, the Trinity Long Room Hub and the Trinity Centre for Post-Conflict Justice bring you a selection of original poems from poets in a series called Window to My World: Poetry, Resistance and Justice.

Window to My World: Poetry, Resistance and Justice is curated for World Poetry Day by the Trinity Centre for Post-Conflict Justice, supported by the Trinity Long Room Hub. This sequence of original poems, read by their authors, brings together poets from different conflict zones in the world who now live in Ireland, and Irish poets who have written about the conflict on the island of Ireland. It is an invitation to those who have reflected on the conflict in Ireland to embrace the histories of the pursuit of justice on the part of those who have arrived here as refugees and asylum seekers. Equally, it invites those who have come to Ireland from different conflict zones to embrace the struggles for justice and peace that have deeply marked the history and personality of this island. – Jude Lal Fernando
