Olivia Frehill is a PhD candidate at the Department of History in the School of Histories and Humanities. She is funded through the TCD Provost’s Project PhD Award and is supervised by Dr. Carole Holohan. She holds a BA in History and Sociology and an MPhil in Modern Irish History, both from TCD.
Her project seeks to provide critical, fresh perspectives on the much-neglected issues of female employment, welfare, geographical mobility, social mobility, class, changing values, educational and technological change in the urban context. In doing so, it will offer glimpses into the multifarious experiences of women across the transformative period c. 1890 - 1940 in the aforementioned areas.
