Lorraine McEvoy

Lorraine McEvoy is a PhD candidate in the Department of History. Her research explores initiatives for the recuperation of European children in the immediate aftermath of the Second World War. Her primary focus is on recuperative holidays, which involved sending groups of children abroad for short periods of time in order to restore their mental and physical health. She is working towards a transnational history of these schemes, while also using them as means to examine emotional histories of the aftermath.

Lorraine is funded by an Ussher Fellowship. She holds a B.A. in History and English Literature and an M.Phil in International History, both from Trinity College Dublin.
