Siobhán Callaghan

Siobhán is an Irish Research Council funded PhD candidate in the School of English. Her research seeks to explore representations of the displaced children of the Second World in historical fiction for children, 1970 to present. Taking a comparative geographic approach, the project examines the continued fascination with the Second World War in literature for children and the evolution of the displacement narrative.

Siobhán holds a B.A in English Literature and Drama Studies and an M.Phil. in Children's Literature, both from Trinity College. She was awarded the 2019/20 Yale-TCD Bursary for Research in Children's Literature. Siobhán is also a reviewer for Children's Books Ireland and RTE Radio 1 arts and culture programme, Arena.
