Dr Dhananjay Singh
Dr Dhananjay Singh is Assistant Professor at the Centre for English Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, where he teaches MA and MPhil courses and supervises research on Indian aesthetics, comparative aesthetics, Modern Irish Literature, and Indian philosophy of language.
He was Visiting Professor, University of Bergamo, Italy, in October 2014, and International Visiting Fellow, Grinnell College, Grinnell, IOWA, USA, in September-October 2015.
Dr Singh has published his research on comparative aesthetics, Indian poetics, Buddhist literature and philosophy, and Irish writings. He had his book Fables in the Indian Narrative Tradition: An Analytical Study (2011) published by D.K. Printworld, a leading publishing house in the field of Indology.
He has been Assistant Editor of Mutual Regards: Anthology of Indo-Irish Writings (Delhi, D.K. Printworld, Forthcoming). He has written course materials on Irish writings for Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), New Delhi. He has also been Assistant Editor of Encyclopedia of Indian Poetics, a project of Sahitya Akademi, (Indian Academy of Letters), New Delhi, funded by UNESCO.
30 June 2017: Dr Singh will give a public lecture entitled "Heaney's Aesthetics: Buddhist Perspectives" in the Neill Lecture Theatre at 1pm on Friday the 30th of June. Read more about the event here.
