External Affiliated Networks

The Trinity Long Room Hub actively participates in the three international consortia that bring together institutes of advanced study and humanities research centres:

1. Consortium for Humanities Centres and Institutes (CHCI). The current Director, Professor Jane Ohlmeyer, has been invited to serve on CHCI’s international advisory board from 2017 to 2020.
2. University Based Institutes of Advanced Study (UBIAS)
3. European Consortium for Humanities Institutes and Centres (ECHIC), which was co-founded by former Director Professor Poul Holm.

We also avail ourselves of university wide-level networks, especially the COIMBRA group where the Institute’s former Director (Professor Barkhoff) is particularly active as a member of the executive. 

In 2016 Trinity became a member of LERU (League of European Research Universities).

We are also a founding member of the Irish Humanities Alliance, which is seeking to influence national and European research and funding policies.
