Academic Integrity

The Academic Integrity Working Group, established following Council approval of the Terms of Reference on 9 February 2022, has developed a Statement of Principles on Integrity for academics, professional staff, and students.

Plagiarism Policy

Plagiarism is interpreted by the University as the act of presenting the work of others as one’s own work, without acknowledgement.

Plagiarism is considered as academically fraudulent, and an offence against University discipline. The University considers plagiarism to be a major offence, and subject to the disciplinary procedures of the University.

The Calendar (Part II Undergraduate and Part III Postgraduate) outlines the process through which a suspected case of plagiarism should be dealt with. Where the summary procedure is invoked a written minute of the Plagiarism Summary Procedure must be completed.

A general set of guidelines for students on avoiding plagiarism is available on Library website.
