Perinatal Mental Health and Birth Related Trauma: Maximising Best Practice and optimal Outcomes

The DEVOTION (DEliVery-related Trauma Outcomes Network) is a COST Action designed to bring together researchers and clinicians from diverse fields, that have an interest in birth-related trauma and the emotional and psychological outcomes for women, infants and families, meeting the COST excellence and inclusiveness policy regarding spreading excellence and widening participation.

COST Vision and Strategic Goals outline three priorities for its positioning in the remaining part of Horizon 2020 and FP9, the next Framework Programme for Research and Innovation: 1) Promoting and spreading excellence, 2) Fostering interdisciplinary research for breakthrough science, 3) Empowering and retaining young researchers and innovators. DEVOTION responds to these priorities. This network is made up of experts from a wide variety of disciplines at various stages in their careers, including, midwifery, obstetrics, psychology (various branches i.e. health, medical, prenatal, family studies, neuro, clinical, behavioural), psychiatry, paediatrics, neurology, neurobiology, social work, analytical chemistry, biochemistry, epidemiology, epigenetics, health economists, media and informatics.
