Master of Science (MSc) in Child Protection and Welfare

Introduction

The M.Sc. is designed to build on the Postgraduate Diploma in Child Protection and Welfare, which counts as year 1 of this two-year part-time postgraduate programme. The M.Sc. aims to develop applied research skills in the field of child protection and welfare.

Admission

Admission is available only to those candidates who have achieved a 2.1 standard in the Postgraduate Diploma in Child Protection and Welfare, and who submit a satisfactory research proposal. Application for September 2015 entry is now closed.

Course Structure and Content

Students attend classes on research methods, organisational change and development. In addition, each student is assigned an individual dissertation supervisor, who provides support and guidance in planning and implementing the dissertation.

Assessment

Dissertation of 15-20,000 words.
