Tylor Brand Assistant Professor in Modern Middle Eastern History

Tylor Brand is an assistant professor of modern Middle Eastern history and the Arabic language at Trinity College in Dublin, where he specializes in the history of crisis and famine in late Ottoman Lebanon. He is currently preparing his book manuscript entitled Famine Worlds, which examines the ways that individuals and society adapted to and interpreted the intrusion of the Lebanese famine of World War I in their daily lives. Before moving to Ireland, he spent six years living in Beirut, Lebanon, and another three in the United Arab Emirates.
