Trinity Business Student of the Year 2010 Announced

Business Studies student Conor O’Toole was recently announced as the winner of the 2010 Trinity Business Student of the Year award for his outstanding contribution to College society life and for his entrepreneurial activities.  The competition, open to final year business students, is run by Trinity Business Alumni in association with the Business School in Trinity College and is sponsored by Bank of Ireland.

As well as studying for a degree in Business Studies and Economics, Conor is also the founding president and chairperson of the Trinity Investment Society and has also established the Trinity Capital Managed Student fund which gives students an opportunity to learn about investments.  Conor was one of six TCD business students shortlisted for the award.

Trinity Provost, Dr John Hegarty, speaking at the reception congratulated all the finalists and stressed the importance of their leadership in both student and community life.

Speaking about the award, honorary treasurer of the Trinity Business Alumni, Catrina Sheridan, said: “Each finalist has demonstrated outstanding leadership and success not only in their academic studies but also in College life.  Between them, they have a breadth of achievements and varied endeavours and there’s no doubt they will all be future business leaders.”
