Trinity College Dublin has appointed novelist and critic Ian Sansom as Associate Professor in Literary Practice in the School of English. Professor Sansom will also be responsible for the development of Trinity's Oscar Wilde Centre as its director.

Professor Sansom studied at both Oxford and Cambridge where he was a fellow of Emmanuel College. He previously taught in the Department of English and Comparative Literary Studies at the University of Warwick and Queen's University Belfast. He is a frequent contributor to The Guardian and the London Review of Books. Professor Sansom will take up his post later this year.

“I think I have some idea of the work put in over many years to establish the Oscar Wilde Centre and the practice of literary practice. I very much hope that I'll be able to continue and build on that work. I really am absolutely honoured and delighted to have been appointed,” commented Professor Sansom.
