Dale Whelehan

Dale graduated from Trinity College Dublin with a B.Sc. in Physiotherapy in 2018 before commencing Doctorate Studies in the area of Surgical Education under the supervision of Professor Paul Ridgway. After completing a sabbatical year as Education Officer and Deputy President of Trinity College Dublin Students' Union Oncology in 2017, he knew that he wanted to pursue a career in education research. During his tenure he was the project manager for the implementation of Ireland's first Student Partnership Policy. He has presented on 'student centred approaches to teaching and learning' in several conferences. both nationally and internationally, and is currently undertaking research exploring analysis of surgical performance with particular focus on objective assessment of the domains of medical professional practice, sleep deprivation, and cognitive biases in clinical decision making.
