Aoife Cannon
Aoife joined the Department of Surgery in Trinity College Dublin in October 2017 as a postdoctoral research fellow in Niamh Lynam-Lennon’s group investigating the role of the immune system in oesophageal cancer. Aoife completed her undergraduate studies in Natural Sciences, mod. Genetics in 2010. She began her PhD in the Dept. of Surgery in TCD in 2012 and completed it in 2015, under the supervision of Prof. Jacintha O’Sullivan, examining the protective effect of cigarette smoking in ulcerative colitis. Between her PhD and postdoctoral research projects, Aoife worked as a project officer, research office and research analyst in the Health Research Board.
