Research Summary

Tony McElligott is a principal investigator in The John Durkan Leukaemia Laboratories with a particular interest in the chronic B-cell malignancies, especially chronic lymphocytic leukaemia and multiple myeloma.   Key research areas are the investigation of novel therapeutic strategies, biomarkers of treatment response and molecular mediators of leukemic cell homing and trafficking.

The John Durkan Leukaemia Laboratories in the Institute of Molecular Medicine are closely aligned with the Department of Haematology, Cancer Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory, the Clinical Cytometry Laboratory and Cryobiology Laboratory Stem Cell Facility in St James’s Hospital to form a coherent translational research environment on the campus of St James’s Hospital.
