Trinity National Deprivation Index

The Trinity National Deprivation Index has been developed by researchers at the Department of Public Health & Primary Care in Trinity College Dublin. The index is a continuation of the former SAHRU Deprivation Index developed by the late Prof. Alan Kelly. The index uses indicators of material deprivation from the Irish Census to calculate a measure of deprivation for small areas in Ireland. The index has been widely used in health services research in Ireland over the last 25 years. Available at this site are the report and data for the current index, as well as historical reports published through this Department.
