Professor Maeve Lowery elected to Professorial Fellowship

Professor Maeve Lowery, was one of five academics elected to Professorial Fellowship in Trinity College Dublin on Monday 29th April 2019. Excellence in research and scholarship is the primary qualification for Fellowship, along with the professor's contribution to academic life and teaching in the College.

Maeve Lowery is Professor of Translational Cancer Medicine at TCD and a consultant medical oncologist at St James's Hospital. She is clinical research lead for the Trinity St James's Cancer Institute. Prior to joining Trinity Professor Lowery was a consultant medical oncologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, where she completed an advanced fellowship in gastrointestinal oncology. She specialises in the treatment of patients with gastrointestinal cancers. Her research focuses on pre-clinical and clinical studies of novel therapeutics for gastric, pancreatic and liver cancers. Her research has been funded by an NIH RO1 grant in addition to awards from The Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation and The Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund.
