David Joyce PhD
Position: Post-Doctoral Researcher
Dr David Joyce is a post-doctoral researcher at the Department of Histopathology Trinity College Dublin/Coombe Women and Infants University Hospital, Dublin.
David has degrees in physics from TCD and UCD. After a career in mobile technologies and software development he completed a PhD at National College of Ireland on behaviour change, specifically the encouragement of mental health help-seeking using mobile technologies.
On completion, David worked for 3 years at Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services in Harold’s Cross as a researcher with the UCD School of Medicine on the evaluation if cancer symptoms, followed by a 2 year stint at the UCD School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health Systems, using geospatial statistical techniques to investigate paediatric emergency department visits and working on remote monitoring for COVID-19.
He is currently working with the CERVIVA research group on the project “What influences cervical screening uptake in older women and how can screening programmes translate this knowledge into behaviour changing strategies? A qualitative and quantitative research project”.
