Haematology Textbook

A new book has been published by Wiley-Blackwell called Clinical Cases Uncovered: Haematology.
The book is one of a series on 'Clinical Cases Uncovered' including 14 specialties. The book is aimed at undergraduates and doctors in the early part of their training. It is written by Professor Shaun McCann with contributions from Professor Robin Foa, Professor of Haematology, University 'La Sapienza', Rome, Italy, Professor Owen Smith and Dr Eibhlin Conneally, TCD.

Clinical Skills Lab Photo

Phase 1 of the Regional Clinical Skills Centre at St James’s Hospital opened in February 2009. This clinical skills laboratory will provide the necessary facilities for structured laboratory training in practical clinical skills prior to live training at the bedside, which will increasingly be an essential component of training and competence for doctors, nurses and other allied health professionals.  read on

Prichard Medal Winners

Prichard Medal Winners - 2007 and 2008. Dr Ion Cretu won the medal for 2006-2007 and Dr Joseph Browne won the medal for 2007-2008. Prof McCann presented the medals on 12th December 2008.
(This is awarded annually to the best clinical tutors from St James's Hospital, as voted by the final year medical students)
