Experimental Work in MMBE

Before you start your experimental work in MMBE labs, you must complete the following:

  1. Read and acknowledge the MMBE Safety Statement.

  2. Complete any safety training required, compulsory training may include Compressed Gas, Biological Hazard, Laser Safety training, etc.

  3. Submit any risk assessments associated with your experimental work.

    • A Project Safety Statement should be completed where multiple risk assessments are required.

    • A New Hazard Safety document is required for new machinery, gases, chemicals, etc.

  4. Person Down devices are available if your work involves Lone Working.

  5. You are required to use the SafeZone app and follow the MMBE Lone and Out-of-Hours Working Policy for any out-of-hours working.

    • Normal operating hours are 8am - 6pm Monday - Friday.
