Dr. Shuo Yin was appointed Assistant Professor within the Mechanical, Manufacturing and Biomedical Engineering in January 2019. He received Ph.D from Dalian University of Technology (China) in January 2013. His PhD research was focusing on experimental and numerical investigation of cold sprayed metal deposits. From 2013 to 2015, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at University of Technology of Belfort-Montebiard in France and Wageningen University in the Netherland. He then moved to Dublin and was appointed a research fellow at the Department of Mechanical, Manufacturing and Biomedical Engineering in Trinity College Dublin. In 2017, he was awarded a prestigious GOIPD Postdoctoral Research Fellowship sponsored by Irish Research Council. His current research interests are mainly focusing on additive manufacturing processes, including cold spraying, selective laser melting and digital light processing. He is now lecturing 4B6 Manufacturing Systems and Project Management and 4B5 Manufacturing Technology.
