Asylum Seekers Access Scholarships (ASAP) Available in Trinity

Who are these scholarships for?

Trinity College Dublin is offering four Asylum Seeker Access Provision (ASAP) scholarships for students in direct provision who have studied in the Irish second-level school system, have or intend to have taken the Leaving Certificate and are offered a place in Trinity through the CAO in 2019 on certain courses (see below for full list of courses).

These scholarships provide for all fees (tuition, registration etc), an annual stipend of €1,500 (payable in monthly instalments), a laptop, provision of meals, and public transport costs. The scholarships are open only to those in Direct Provision Centres or who are registered with TUSLA or the State for accommodation within Dublin or within a commutable distance (see Eligible Direct Provision Centres listed below). The scholarships the scholarships are awarded based on a CAO offer being made on eligible courses with a maximum of four scholarships awarded annually.

Scholarship Eligibility

• Applications must be submitted through the online form available here, by the closing date: July 5th, 5pm.

• Applicants must be offered a place on an eligible Trinity course through the CAO (see below for list of eligible courses).

• Applicants must not be eligible for state support.

• Applicants must have or intend to have completed the Leaving Certificate examination and/or the QQI FETAC full award within the last two years.

• Applicants must be attending university for the first time.

• Students must commence their course of study and be a registered student of the college for the scholarship to become valid.
