“The lamps are going out all over Europe. We shall not see them lit again in our lifetime”
As part of the Library of Trinity College Dublin’s programme of activities, the Great War will be acknowledged through a dynamic light installation this November. The video below shows the version projected earlier this year as part of Trinity Week.
The names and portraits of some of the Trinity students, staff and alumni who fell in World War I will be projected onto the East face of the 1937 Reading Room in an emotive and respectful display.
Event Details:
Date: 16-20 November 2015
Time: 18:00- 22:00 each evening
Location: Exterior of the 1937 Reading Room, Fellows Square
This initiative is also presented as part of the Explore your Archive campaign, Library Ireland Week and European Academic Heritage Day.
