The Library will be closed Monday 16th October due to the Status Red wind warning for Ireland issued by Met Eireann. The closure covers all reading rooms and Library buildings, including our 24-hour study areas and Library facilities outside the main campus.
Stay safe! Normal service is expected to resume on Tuesday 17th October.
As part of this year’s Open House Festival, the Berkeley Library – 50 years old this year – is being opened up for public tours from 12:00 to 16:00 on Saturday 14th October. This is a special opportunity to welcome members of the public to experience ‘Ireland’s finest modern building’.
The tours are likely to involve some minor noise disruption, particularly on the upper floors, but every effort will be taken to minimise the impact. Please note that alternative quiet study spaces will be available in the Lecky and Ussher libraries.

The Library is pleased to announce the launch of a new online booking system for the group study rooms in the BLU, Hamilton and John Stearne Medical libraries.
Students can now book Library group study rooms online from anywhere. For full details about the rooms and to book, please go to Online Group Study Room Booking.
Students can access the system from Wednesday 7th December to make bookings for Monday 12th December onwards.
Due to works to upgrade the facilities in our Group Study Rooms – we are adding display screens to four more of the rooms – rooms 2,4,7 and 8 will be unavailable today, 3 October and tomorrow 4 October. While the other rooms are available for use, the area will be noisy because of drilling and installation work.
Newcomers to Trinity can be a bit intimidated by the size of the Library and its many buildings and services, so we’ve put together a short video to showcase what we do. Enjoy 🙂
On Monday 4th May 2015 the Berkeley/Lecky/Ussher and Hamilton Libraries will be open from 11am to 7pm. The 24-hour Kinsella Hall in the Ussher Library and the 1937 Postgraduate Reading Room will remain open by ID card access to Trinity students and staff.
The John Stearne Medical Library will be closed on Monday 4th May 2015, as will EPB and M&ARL.
All Library reading rooms reopen on Tuesday 5th May 2015. For further information please consult our Opening Hours webpage.
Due to the Trinity Ball, all Library buildings on the main College campus will close early on Friday 17th April 2015.
The John Stearne Medical Library is unaffected as it lies off campus, and will close at 10pm Friday 17th April and reopen at 9:30am Saturday 18th April.
