at the Irish Nationalists I can only remember a line something like this “—- you have belittled my country, you who have no country but only a windy empire to roam in.” I quoted it to Sgt. F. knowing him for a Kipling worshipper & I don’t think he liked it at all.
My other letter will tell you all that I know of the business your father is looking after for me so well. I was up not far from the lines this morning with a special message that turned out to be leave granted for an officer. Quite a few officers have gone on leave so it shouldnt be long before our turn comes round. Unfortunately there may be a great difference in the time leave stars and when one gets it as a division is a big heap of men. However we will hope for the best.
