I do not know what news I have for you today. I hope you have made the crossing to England without too much discomfort and getting pushed around. What do you think about the Conscription bill and Ireland. It is a hard matter and shews a big gulf still separates us from the people in England. I think in a way it is a pity that Ireland could not come under the act as well but undoubtedly it was impracticable. By the Way, you say itd be easy for me to get a commission for look at the fellows who are gazetted. This is fine partly except for my difficulty being in Active Service and consequently unable to run & see people. However we will hope for the best and if nothing hopeful arises out of the your fathers negociations with my qualifications I can take more steps
